Compliance Audits

Compliance audits are an important part of any process safety or risk management program, whether or not the facility is PSM or RMP governed. You have spent a lot of time and resources developing a process safety plan, and the acceleration in learning and improvement that comes to an organization’s management and personnel through the audit process is unparalleled. In short, if you have a plan, isn’t it important to know how well you are following this plan?

Compliance Audits

In order to fulfill the law as outlined in 29 CFR 1910.119(o), PSM governed facilities must complete a compliance audit once every 3 years to “verify that the procedures and practices developed under the standard are adequate and are being followed.”  Additionally, those facilities that are governed by the EPA’s Accidental Release Prevention Requirements: Risk Management Programs (RMP) under section 112 (r) of the Clean Air Act Amendments also require certification of compliance audits every 3 years (40 CFR 68.58 & 79)

REDD has performed these audits for a variety of facilities. We have qualified engineers who are knowledgeable about many processes used in industry today.

Additionally, 3rd party audits can be more than just about compliance – with REDD you will find it is about improvement.  Not only will we provide feedback regarding your compliance with regulation, but we will also provide guidance and suggestions on how you can leverage your programs and practices to acheive a word-class safety culture and practice.

If your process is governed by PSM and/or RMP, make sure that you are up to date with your Compliance Audits.  We’d be pleased to assist you in this effort, please contact us directly for details.

You can also join our mailing list for more information on what REDD can do for your PSM program.
