Alky Decontamination Building Design & Construction

Having a "Blast" Building a BRM

REDD provided engineering, design, and construction support for a new Alky Decontamination Building at a refinery in Salt Lake City.

Alky Decontamination Building Design & Construction

A refinery in Salt Lake City intended to demolish an old Alky Decontamination building and replace it with a new building for storing and cleaning personal protective equipment required for the Alky unit. REDD helped specify and select a Blast Resistant Module (BRM) and coordinated with the BRM manufacturer on a design that would provide not only effective protection for operators, but also give plenty of space for storing and cleaning personal protective equipment. REDD then produced engineering and design drawings including general arrangements, demolition drawings, civil drawings, and piping plans.

After generating the design package, REDD provided construction oversight and field coordination throughout the entire construction phase. REDD was always on site ready to solve any unforeseen issues during construction as well as uphold our standards of safe work practices, which is evidenced by our impeccable safety record. The approach to go with a BRM reduced construction risks and scheduling, and resulted in an efficient method to complete the project.

REDD was highly involved in all aspects of this project through its successful completion. At REDD, we are committed to client satisfaction and take pride in delivering quality construction projects on schedule and within budget. Due to the success of this project in terms of quality and performance, REDD made a long-lasting partnership with this refinery and continue to provide engineering design and construction support at this facility.
