Slurry Piping System

A refinery in Salt Lake City needed a better way to recirculate their slurry from the tank farm to the FCC. Due to the successful piping design projects REDD provided earlier, the client invited REDD back to deliver an engineering solution.

REDD was responsible for providing engineering services and overall design of the piping system, which consisted of over 1,400 feet of new pipe, incorporating two new control loops, a new pump and concrete containment pad, and designed additional pipe supports to facilitate the new circuit. REDD also performed a stress analysis of the piping system to determine the loads on the new API pump. REDD made sure that the piping design passed all of the B31.3 stress requirements in all scenarios and confirmed that the loading on all of the new and existing supports were acceptable.

REDD is always committed to client satisfaction in delivering projects within scope, schedule and budget. Because of the overall excellence in this project’s quality, budget, and delivery, the client was once again pleased with the exceptional work and keeps inviting REDD back.
